I went to see Dr. Lu and I spoke mostly to the PA, who examined me first. Then Dr. Lu came in and examined me. I can tell that she is extremely knowledgeable and very quick. That's great for some people but I felt that I wasn't able to talk about what may be causing the issues I was having and what I could do that was preventative. The visit was extremely generic &perfunctory to say the least. I was treated in an extremely generic, impersonal manner. When Dr. Lu finally DID show up in the examination room, she had her assistant(s) do a procedure. I don’t recall agreeing to that. They failed to give me any meaningful or helpful information as follow up to the procedure/visit. Such as: don’t scratch, apply ice or cold compresses, etc. nothing. I was left hanging. I found Dr. Lu’s approach to be extremely obscure & unhelpful to the patient!
Not sure why there are such low reviews because I had an excellent visit. Dr Lu is a great listener and wants to make sure you understand what she’s telling you. She takes her time and explains every aspect of her treatment. I will definitely be back next year.
Have seen dermatologists in Chicago for years re: sun damage. Noticed a questionable mole soon after move to Connecticut & my wife, a nurse, searched local area for a physician. Found Dr. Lu to be extremely knowledgeable, very thorough & sensitive to my personal needs. Appreciated her affiliation with U. CT., background at Mayo, very capable team etc. Quickly treated me for noted condition and one other, took time to answer all questions and clarified next steps. A positive experience
