Avoid at all costs. For those who don't know, a picc line is an iv that rests in your arm 24/7 and inhibits range of motion. The picc line was put in early 3 days before I needed it, making showers and sleeping super annoying. I have some friends who are nurses, and they were cackling at a doctor sending someone to get a picc line before antibiotics are ready.
