My son has been going to Helen Devos for years. They told me there was a new doctor who would be handling his most recent emergency admission because he was the one on for the weekend. He came in to meet with us completely unprepared and was ignorant. I tried to nicely inform him of his clear ignorance. He became abrasive and aggressive. It has been a dozen years since my son‘s surgery with Dr. Petrônio and every year on that day I am grateful and thankful for his compassion, his skill, his talent, and his intelligence. Quite honestly one of the most gentle and compassionate doctors I have ever met. He slept in the hospital next to my son the first night just to make sure he wouldn’t miss anything. I cannot put into words the gratitude we feel for his talent and amazing heart.
Dr. Petronio took care of us when our two month old needed a shunt put in for hydrocephalus. It was discovered while I was still pregnant and closely monitored after he was born. We felt so taken care of and felt so secure with him as our surgeon. Always felt like we were sitting with one of the smartest (yet humble) people in the world when talking with him. Would HIGHLY recommend!
