I have been using Dr Fontanez since at least 2000 before he joined the Caremount group. He has always shown interest in me as an individual and as a patient. He covers my overall health each time I see him and since I have diabetes, for the last 10 years or so I have blood work done each time before I see him and he takes the time to cover every point of the blood work to make sure I understand it and how it affects my diabetes issue. After my father and I both found out that mom had been allowed off mental health medicine after lying about another physician recommending she do so, we contacted doctor Fontanez's office(her doctor)to discuss. My dad had already spoken to them and they gave him the runaround. So I decided to call. His nurse Barbara seemed inconvenienced by my call and after she insisted that she didn't have a release to discuss my mom's healthcare with me, I insisted she did and they had before. Awful. Gave me 2 min of his time. He flat out denied medications I needed and had ZERO concern about my current pain. I have IBS and told him I can’t take Advil he said “Yeah, they all say that”. Never in my life met such a rude doctor who had no regard towards my issues. I will file a complaint with his supervisor he should not be practicing medicine.
Though I really like Dr. Fontanez I had an issue with a receptionist the first time i visited him.. she was rude which was unnecessary.. the second time I saw him there were two nurses that gave me reason not to return... one took my blood pressure and kept pumping my arm until I said "It's starting to hurt.." It was really getting painful which is unusual.. She just said "Yup.." I told her again and she said the same thing still pumping away so I asked the other nurse if maybe she couldn't hear me with the stethoscope in he... read more
