Awesome Doctor. Has over 40 Years of experience. Yes he is tough. He is going to tell you like it is and stress the importance of maintaining Good Heart Health. Sometimes we don’t want to hear it or face it. However, he helps me maintain Good Heart Health and my weight has dropped as well following his directions. I actually moved out of state but drive 4 hours to see him because I’m well managed and want to keep it that way.
Wrongfully billing my spouse who is covered by Tricare and was a transfer from BJACH to Byrd. Doctor was barely present. Billing is still messed up months later. His staff has yet to follow up saying they corrected the bill.
At my first visit they had me wait more than 1 hour. When the doctor finally walked in my room he blamed the staff for not telling him that I’m waiting, and he would have had time for me 20 minutes ago. He went on like this for a few minutes. A nurse popped in the examination room about 4 or 5 times while I was talking to the doctor, constantly interrupting. Follow up visit comes around and I waited 2!! hours to be seen. Dr Matthew and staff are the best. He is very thorough and really hears you. I don’t want any other doctor, it’s worth the wait!
Did a botched cardiac cath on me in Byrd Hospital. Went in same side as proposed stent. Punctured artery in abdomen, I woke and told him I could feel spurting in abdomen. Spent 8 hours on table plugging hole and placing stent. Not once in 8 hours was wife informed what was going on. I would not recommend this man for care. Changed physician to Alexandria.
