I presented with pain in the abdomen and stated it was exactly like when I had gallstones. He ordered a CT scan without contrast (which would be necessary to visualize the ducts), told me nothing was clearly wrong and sent me home. A week later I have had an ultrasound that shows a large stone blocking a duct. Had he ordered contrast he would have seen that and I would not have been in pain for another week.
