New patients here! My family just switched over to Atlantic Dental in York, ME because it is so much closer to where we live. My family had an easy time switching over the previous dentist's records and it was quick to be set up as new patients. The office is clean and the hygienists are well-trained and experienced. I showed up for my semi annual cleaning and was told I needed bite-wing x-rays. I refused since they have rarely revealed issues and my insurance doesn't cover them. Atlantic Dental (AD) REQUIRES annual bite-wing x-rays. The office manager claims ADA requires it. The ADA DOESN'T require it. They recommend that if your teeth are not high risk, one set every two to three years is sufficient. Without a doubt, Dr Spero and his “gang” are spectacular. I’m a “seasonal” resident (5 months) and fortunately for me, all of my real dental issues have happened while in Maine. I have had two crowns (which my dentist in FL has claimed (in spite of the fact HER own husband’s specialty is just this) Dr Spero’s crown work is the best she has ever seen.
