He spoke to me with dignity. He did not rush my apt. and was thorough. He reviewed everything with me in a clear and understandable way. He provided for me a plan of care.
I have had surgery three times with Dr. Labiak. He operates with Dr. Rafael Davis, the head of neurosurgery for SBU. He is a complete gentleman with very skilled hands. I have had two major surgeries, a lumbar 5 level and a cervical 5 level with him and both were successful. I wouldn't go to anyone else.
Short waiting time and he is patient and covers all your questions even when you think your questions may be silly. I came upon Dr. Labiak when another Dr. and his therapist told me that he was the only person they would let touch their spine.
Had neck surgery had major problems 10 screws 2 rods had a appointment at 11am was there at 9am only patient in office I was so bad He didn't want anyone to see me at the end Dr didn't even make a appointment to come back I walked with my head down john whalen and I am not a doctor
I had a spinal fusion performed by Dr. Labiak. S1-T10 It was FBS. The rod was put in wrong and I was bent over. He never admitted it and kept blaming it on my legs and went to all kinds of therapy. I asked him if it could be the hardware he said no even though he saw how bent I was. It was impossible for me to stand up straight. Three years later I had another surgery. It was an Ostiotomy performed in NYU Langone. I stand as straight as an arrow. There were other complication a leg that was numb
Take this from a physician who is also Dr. Labiak's patient: he is an astonishingly good doctor. Surgeons are often taught that "a chance to cut is a chance to cure." Not so, with Dr. Labiak. He patiently reviews all treatment options, many of them non-surgical. He is a gifted, caring, empathetic physician at the top of his game. Patients with spinal problems should look nowhere else.
Best surgeon around with the best bedside manner
