Dr. Gunnell has in fact retired. However, if you are persistent in leaving message with his answering service, you will be able to secure your medical records or be given a referral to a new doctor. It took me three messages before I got a return call, but, within days I now have my medical records. I am a 30 year survivor so there was a lot of information I wanted. The gentleman handling these requests does a good job in condensing your file. Keep reaching out if you aren't satisfied.
Unethical. He has retired. 4 months before his retirement he is still accepting new patients and did a lot of tests and charged quite a lot. I saw him twice and then he retired without letting me know. All I got was answering service. The lady said he's been planning to retire for a while. I would like to get my medical records back. He did not answer my message. Very unprofessional for his handling of patients
Dr. Gunnell was one of the most unprofessional doctors I have ever dealt with. He was incredibly condescending to the patients wife and friends. A family on the brink of despair is looking for a little compassion. Dr. Gunnell showed them none. At one point he said to the patients wife "when you're done interrupting I'll continue". I promise you she was not interrupting him. He was doing rounds for a doctor on vacation and gave every impression that he was inconvenienced to be there.

Dr. Gunnell is always up to date with the latest on cancer and other diseases. He is courteous, kind, considerate and always very professional. He has an understanding with his patients and keeps them well informed regarding their illness. I would highly recommend Dr. Gunnell to anyone as he is a pit bull when it comes to fighting cancer.
