I am very disturbed by my experience with Dr. Destefano. I had a consult for cataract surgery and was told that my cataracts are ready. Dr. Destefano told me that I had to have the laser for the surgery or that he wouldnt be able to get the cataracts out safely. The laser was going to cost $2000 per eye. When I asked him if I could just have the regular insurance covered procedure he told me that he was worried that I would have a complication because of the specifics of my cataracts. I went to see Dr Destefano for my cataracts. The testing was thorough. He explained everything, including the different lenses. He took his time. He was very knowledgeable. When I had my first cataract extraction, he talked me through it. He made the entire process very easy. I'm looking forward to my next surgery.
