I've been going to Dr. Shewmaker for about 15 years. For the first time in my life, I had a medical issue that required a special issuance and advised him early of the issue. Dr. Shewmaker was able to navigate the FAA paperwork and bureaucracy to get my medical in what I would consider record time. He far exceeded my expectations and would definitely recommend him for your FAA medical needs.
John provides for a professional experience with light humor.
Dr Shewmaker has been my AME for more than 15 years. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is very professional and a pleasure to deal with. I find it very easy to make appointments, he has updated his website to allow quick and easy bookings. You can also access his office quite easy from the MCO Orlando Airport. Just 15 minute ride from the airport.

I cannot recommend Dr. Shewmaker enough. I have been seeing him twice a year for the last 6 years for my first class medicals and can honestly say, I’ve never had an FAA medical examiner care about my whole person as well as Dr. Shewmaker does.
