My daughter saw Dr DeFrate for years for her ADHD, depression, bipolar II. Our appointments were 15 minutes and if we said she was depressed or agitated he increased her medicines. She had a psychotic episode with hallucinations, insomnia and Dr DeFrate said to take her to Rockford Center where she was admitted. They told us she was very overmedicated, decreased all her meds and she was much better. DR DEFRATE NEVER ASKED HOW SHE WAS DOING. We did not see him again. And he did not ever contact us. He was my pyschiatrist at Christiana 7North. He was rude, did not listen to me, gave me medication that made me feel off, and overall lacked any sympathy or empathy. He works with suicidal patients and he just seems like he doesn't care.
