Matta fused my right hip after a bad car wreck because the ball and cup shattered into small pieces so there was nothing to screw the hip replacement into until it calcified years later which it has. I'm hoping to have it done soon. Dr Matta is an amazing person and his staff is as well.
Dr. Matta replaced both of my hips at the same time in 2015. I could not be happier with the results. I am now 100 percent pain free. I am back to hiking, biking, swimming at the lake, and am doing yoga and Pilates. I have traveled to Europe and can take long car rides again. Choosing him to be my surgeon was the best decision I have ever made. The surgery was so worth it. He is talented, kind, and very dedicated.
His surgery permanently damaged my Lateral Femoral Cutaneous Nerve in my right thigh leaving me with a permanent burning sensation , Meralgia Paresthetica.. This is a common result with anterior THR. The nerve runs in various ways right where the surgery incision is made. I stressed my concerns during pre-surgery consult, . Matta lied to me,with witnesses present, stating this would not occur with his surgery because he moves the incision away from the nerve.
