My son had tongue, lip and cheek release at 9 weeks by Dr Kestenberg and we could not be happier. He had feeding issues since birth - low weight gain, on/off feeding, latching issues, mastitis, “colic”, reflux, vomiting, upset tummy, poor sleep. Our 6 months old baby girl has been having feeding difficulties since birth. Inspite of specifically asking to check for ties, was brushed aside by countless others as a behavioural issue. This mama's gut couldn't just let it go! After scouring the internet,I found Dr. K....and low and behold Dr.K and his team did not disappoint. Wasted our time during conjob. We travelled from NE Vic for an apt for our daughter. Admin informed us that we could attend and we were welcome to bring our own RAT which we did. Got down there to find that was incorrect. With the doc himself greeting us dressed as madman in the infectious disease ward waving a 6 inch swab. There wasn't any consideration for our reasons to decline and perform a standard RAT nor for the distance we had travelled when we were refused service. Dr Jeffery Kestenberg released my Sons whole mouth at 7 weeks old. He is now 4 years old and from a very young age has been complimented on how clear his speech is I highly doubt this would be the case if we left it un treated.The release didn’t solve breastfeeding concerns, having said this looking back I would still get it done for minimising the developmental issues that go along with Tie’s. P.s its far from pretty procedure to watch your child go through but done within seconds.
