Dr. Budoff treated me for a torn rotator cuff with a cortisone shot and 3 months of torturous physical therapy, and then wanted to do surgery--without taking any xrays. At the insistence of my therapist I got a second opinion. I had been given steriods for respiratory problems and as a result I was diagnosed with avascular necrosis...bone death due to losing blood supply to the joint. The diagnosis was made with a simple xray that showed the shoulder joint was fractured and totally collapsed. My new doctor was horrified to learn I had been through 3 months of therapy with such a catastrophic injury. Do not go to Dr Budoff. He should lose his medical license. I was referred to "DR" Budoff by the PCP. What a big mistake... He performed what I now learn is an out-dated procedure that is known to have a negative outcome. My office visits left me exhausted, even though they lasted only a few minutes. He was always in such a rush, zipping in and out of rooms, talking like the "Micromachine Man" from the old commercials. I could rarely understand what he had said to me. My follow-up visits after surgery were no better. I came in complaining of severe pain. He would simply brush me off, and say it was "just arthritis."
