Dr. Degen saved my husband’s life. He is a kind and considerate doctor who has a gentle way of explaining exactly what’s happening. He takes time during his visits to answer your questions. You are never rushed and you never leave feeling as if his attention wasn’t completely focused on you. One thing we like is that he dictates his notes during your visits so you know exactly what is being added to your medical chart, which helps when discussing things with him and with other doctors. Only giving 1 star because I have to in order to leave a review...however, I had the WORST experience of my life. Dr. Degen's bedside manner was horrible and just such a rude person. Don't even know how he is still in practice. He clearly doesn't know how to do math or measure and he doesn't know how to be professional. He rushed me probably because I'm young and didn't even examine me. I am so disgusted and dissapointed in how I was treated. Will not recommend him to anyone.
I saw a Dr Degen when my pain doctor, physical therapist, and regular doctor agreed I needed surgery. This is one of the worst doctor visits I've ever had. I was looked at by his PA and then he came into the room after looking at my MRI and said there was nothing he could do. He gave me no hope, alternatives, yoga, or any other means for me to help myself. Absolutely unacceptable. I later saw two other spine surgeons who immediately saw that I needed surgery and I chose a really good one. No thanks to you Dr Degen.
Dr Degen is the most wonderful doctor in the world.
I basically went to Dr. Oppenheim after reading online reviews. When I mentioned him to friends, virtually everyone gave him a glowing recommendation. I have suffered from low back pain for years, which started radiating into my leg. Dr. O thoroughly explained how surgery would go. He was very personable and compassionate. My surgery was %100 successful. I had immediate relief, and I only wish I had seen him sooner!
