I was remiss in posting this review shortly after Dr. Degen performed a laminectomy and spinal fusion on me. It will be 2 years on 10/30/2025 and I feel it has been quite successful. Dr. Degen and his staff are kind, supportive and knowledgeable. I was hesitant to agree to surgery so close to Thanksgiving as I was hoping to travel by plane and I didn’t think I would have enough time to recover sufficiently. He assured me I would and told me to “book my tickets”. I listened to him and he was right! Thank you Dr. Degen!
I was rushed to Garnet hospital in Middletown, Dr degen was the neurosurgeon on call.. he rushed me to the ER for emergency surgery on my neck and back. If not for him I would be in a wheelchair instead of being able to walk
Dr. Degen saved my husband’s life. He is a kind and considerate doctor who has a gentle way of explaining exactly what’s happening. He takes time during his visits to answer your questions. You are never rushed and you never leave feeling as if his attention wasn’t completely focused on you. One thing we like is that he dictates his notes during your visits so you know exactly what is being added to your medical chart, which helps when discussing things with him and with other doctors. Only giving 1 star because I have to in order to leave a review...however, I had the WORST experience of my life. Dr. Degen's bedside manner was horrible and just such a rude person. Don't even know how he is still in practice. He clearly doesn't know how to do math or measure and he doesn't know how to be professional. He rushed me probably because I'm young and didn't even examine me. I am so disgusted and dissapointed in how I was treated. Will not recommend him to anyone.
