He is an attentive and very kind doctor, as well as very competent and experienced. He was quick to respond and answered all questions.
Awful. He could not be bothered to give me more then 2 minutes of his time. Literally sent me BACKWARDS in a effort to get care. I'm sorry I'm just a waste of space to you Doc.
We had a visit with Dr. Backer's P.A at Dr, Phillips Hospital. Even though he is part of a group that works for ORMC he is allowed to bill separately from the hospital bill. And therefore doesn't negotiate down as much as the hospital does. It is a huge scam as far as I am concerned. $1000 for a visit of less than an hour total in the ER for a very minor injury(with a PA). Bill comes two months after the hospital bill and it comes from a billing company so there is no way to contact doctor directly. I can't tell you how much... read more
We had an ER visit with doctor Jeffrey Backer. Our insurance paid 100% of the overwhelmingly high $15k hospital charge after negotiations down to 12k, and 100% of the doctor charge after negotiations down as well. Dr. Backer, however, still bills patients a second time with the difference between what was originally billed and what insurance negotiates down to pay. Thus, it obviously doesn't appear very ethical since that's not truly a negotiation with insurance if you're going to try re-charge
