Only Accepts one insurance BCBS and Medicare. If you do not have that it is $400 dollars for the initial appointment and $200 for follow ups...the issue is he requires a follow up appointment EVERY single month just to get your prescription filled rather than refill for every 3 months or 6 months. Office staff (Michelle) is amazing—prompt, organized, helpful and knowledgeable. Dr. Vander-Kooi is a specialist. He clearly assesses, prescribes, and treats his patients with expertise. He is well worth the wait!
Dr. Vander Kooi and his staff are exceptional . The staff goes above and beyond to help when required and Dr. Vander Kooi can be counted on to welcome you to his office EXACTLY the moment the appointment is scheduled. He is knowledgable, considerate, attentive and considers patient input when working together to establish a plan of care. He is one of the most professional individuals I have encountered in healthcare as a whole. I am grateful for his experitse and that of his staff.
Vander Kooi was patronizing and rude, made unprofessional comments about my previous psychiatrist, and clearly felt that my current therapist was beneath him simply because he didn’t recognize her name. I will not return and I will never suggest anyone go to him. *Edited to add: After being told I didn’t owe anything at the front desk months ago, I received a bill in the mail for $150.
