My elderly mom was hospitalized for a variety of reasons and in the process of diagnosing her a bleed in her stomach was discovered. Dr. Mamel performed the procedure to do the repair. The problem came when we tried to schedule a follow up with him after she came home. I spoke to his office three different times and made appointments, to which I received voicemails telling me the appointment was canceled and he would not see her for a follow up. The front end staff, nurse, PA and doctor were a pleasure to deal with. The PA and doctor were thorough and took the time to explain everything to me. They also asked if I had any other concerns not addressed.
Dr Mamel was on top of things - the only unfortunate part about it is that it took awhile to get in and see him, then to get the colonoscopy scheduled. Other than that, Dr Mamel went so far as to call in a colo-rectal surgeon (the best in Tampa) to come in while I was still under and have him review what was going on. I had the best care for handling my situation from there on, and was able to get surgery scheduled immediately.
The worse physician I have encountered in my life. He or his staff misdiagnosed me and now I have something that I do not have or ever had on medical record.
