I came to this appointment hoping to understand the root cause of my GI symptoms. Instead, I left feeling dismissed. From the beginning of my appointment I felt that conclusions had already been reached before my concerns were fully explored. As I was explaining my symptoms and lab work, I was interrupted and asked “And you think this bloodwork is affected by your gut…?” which immediately made it difficult to have an open conversation.
