I’ve been seeing Dr. Shields for about 18 months now after a set of tragedies hit my life Jim helped me get through the situation and avoid turning to alcohol and drugs or any of the other things people escape through. About fifteen years ago, when I was around ten, I began seeing Dr. Shields as part of the support order during my parents’ divorce. Throughout those sessions, he barely spoke to me. He would sit in silence and focus on his own paperwork while I was left completely unsupported. Taking advantage of a situation involving a child has long-term consequences, not only for me but for the integrity of the work he claims to do. Jim is a professional. I have worked with Jim on some family circumstances over the years, we have not always agreed however I can say that he is genuine and he is a professional interested in solutions . It takes a certain type of individual to engage in this work--- i will say that if you invest the time , the truth and the solutions will be made apparent and he will walk with you as a guide . I've been to many psychologist/therapists throughout my 33 years on this earth and Dr. Shields is BY FAR the best. He is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and has a brilliant way of simplifying things for you. He has absolutely no issue telling you the truth about yourself, but does it in a manner that is not condescending or rude. If you need a great therapist who will really help you improve your life I would highly recommend Dr. Shields.
