DON'T GO TO HIM. My sister underwent DBS in July 2021. She had to undergo 6 additional surgeries to either remove part or all of the DBS. She was hospitalized twice for IV antibiotics due to bacteria on the equipment. As long as you have good insurance, they will operate til you die or you are so severely disabled that they don't care. You are nothing but an experiment.

saw him about 3 years ago for a tumor on a nerve on the brain and he was more interested in talking to his interns at the appointment then to listening to me,---teaching , not caring

Love this surgeon and his whole staff. Had DBS inserted in 10/18. Had continuing problems with bacteria infections. They worked tirelessly to control it and were so kind to me. They finally decided it was on the hardware and removed it in 4/2019. Sad because it worked wonderfully. I’m going to have it replaced soon and I have complete faith in Dr. Mcinerney and the staff at Penn State Hershey Medical. A big thank you to my awesome neurologist Dr. Xumei Husng who referred me and has been there for me the last 8 years.

Removed a tumor from my C7 spinal cord, located inside the cord attached to nerves going to my arms, legs, and heart, as well as other areas. He saved my life and mobility when every other surgeon turned me away because it was too risky. He gave me a second chance at life. I thank God for him daily. God Bless you Dr. James Mcinerney.
