Horrible experience with Dr. Oikonomou (Economou?) at Rush. After several months of waiting to be seen, his bedside manned was flippant. He basically told me I was too young to require colonoscopy or have anything significantly wrong with me, despite abdominal pains and serious symptoms. X-rays vindicated/revealed there was something concerning, and it took Dr 7 days to respond to questions via MyChart. Results were not interpreted or adequately explained. I have known Dr. Oikonomou for four years when he was at Yale. I was most impressed with his not giving up when there was pain or if he found something on colonoscopy. It was a very sad day for everyone when he moved to New York.
