I had spinal surgery in 2018. I do not live in St Louis and went there for what I hoped would give relief from pain. It’s been 7 years ago and I have since been diagnosed with “ failed back surgery“ due to increasing pain. The operations took three days. (First day was to insert a port). I am resigned to live with this pain. If I believed something could be done I’d do it.

I was operated on in 2018. A spinal fusion took 3 days. (The first day was an outpatient insertion of a port). I’ve been in pain since then and it has increased every day. Another spine/brain surgeon opined that it’s now considered a failed fusion. My choice now is another fusion that corrects the previous fusion or live on pain medication. Update After consultation with other spine surgeons I’ve been told there’s “ nothing that can be done”. I’m retired now and can only stand for 10 minutes without being in pain. My spine surgery failed, I had multiple complications, my rods broke within the first year. I have ptsd from my experience with Dr. Dorward and Barnes Jewish hospital. I have seen multiple neurosurgeons since my spinal surgery that couldn’t believe the work he did on my spine. I was a professional athlete and Dr. Dorwards surgery ruined my career.
