Dr. Stephens seems to be limited in skill and/or desire to attempt certain procedures. She treated me for an ankle that ultimately needed a triple arthrodesis and we discussed both surgical and non surgical options for several years. During this time she gave me cortisone shots for the pain. When this was no longer effective and it was clear I needed a surgical intervention she offered only an "amputation" of my foot. Imagine my horror. It has been since been repaired by another surgeon. Proceed with caution.
Dr. Stephens performed an excision of Morton's neuromas on both of my feet. I had no complications with the surgery at Tampa General, and am pain free after 3 years. I was very pleased with her knowledge, professionalism, bedside manner, etc. and would highly recommend Dr. Stephens.
I love Dr Stephens. I had an ankle surgery and she treated me after. The best care I could of asked for!!!
Dr. Heidi Stephens IS THE WORST DOCTOR I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. DO NOT SEE HER. SHE PUT IN NO EFFORT AT ALL TO TRY AND HELP ME WITH MY INJURY. She had the worst attitude I've ever experienced with a doctor. Her and the nurse were extremely rude. She didn't try to help me at all. She told me to go back to my old doctor and that there was nothing she could do. I couldn't believe how bad the experience was that I had there. It was a huge waste of time and money.
I started out at Florida Orthopedic for treatment of severe osteoarthritis in both feet. Then I went to see Dr. Heidi Stephens at USF for a second opinion and I'm so glad I did. I had midfoot fusion done a week ago and the experience could not have been any better. She has the expertise to treat my condition, and her bedside manner is also excellent. Her nurse, Deborah, is also very pleasant and efficient. I am very happy that I chose Dr. Stephens to perform my surgery.
Since surgery on my hammer toes, I have had difficulties with my feet. The reason I had surgery was a problem with one rigid hammer toe. She took no x-rays and said I needed surgery on 6 toes. She was in a hurry on the day of surgery, didn't see me after surgery, and when I returned for follow-up visits, she asked me why I was there. My rigid hammer toe is still rigid and I have to see a podatrist every 3-4 months. Do not go to this doctor. Find another surgeon.
