Dr. Geissler not only has the best bedside manner I’ve ever experienced with a doctor but his skill is impeccable. My son was born in 2009 with birth defects that should have hindered his entire life & he had to go into surgery at 12 hours old (& had 3 following surgeries within his first 3 years of life with Dr. Geissler - I made sure of that) . When Dr Geissler resided and practiced in IL, he did my son's spleenectomy back in 2008. We owe much gratitude and thanks to him for being an exceptional surgeon. He had the procedure done not only with much success but also minimal scars. The surgery allowed my son to flourish, grow and live with no more ood transfusions. I knew my daughter was in the best care with Dr. Geissler. She had pectus excavatum surgery with the Nuss procedure, as well as bar removal later. He took so much time to explain everything to us and answer our questions. He just acts like there's no one else in the world waiting for him, but I know that's not true! He is also very humble and takes into consideration patient concerns. It's a surgery you definitely want someone to do who has been around the block.
Dr. Geisler performed the NUSS procedure on my son a couple of years ago and he has since had the second surgery to remove the rod. Dr. Geisler is an amazing doctor, extremely talented, knowledgeable, and passionate. We would highly recommend choosing Dr. Geisler.
In March 2014, my 11 year old daughter had an emergency appendectomy. Our pediatrician immediately suspected the appendix was the culprit, and called ahead to Lutheran General. It was a Saturday but fortunately Dr. Geissler would be the surgeon. She stated that he had the best reputation, was a highly skilled surgeon and we were in good hands. Dr Geissler is very talented, and the scar is barely there 2 1/2 years later. He was kind, with a fantastic bedside manner calming my daughter (and us).
Dr Geissler found that my son needed to have his chest corrected. He has studied to perform the nuss procedure. Dr Geissler is very knowledgable and reassuring! He has performed hundreds of these procedures as well as many different surgeries on peds. My son was reassured having Dr Geissler as his surgeon. The procedure went amazingly. Recovery was tough. Dr Geissler came in daily to check on my son. Everyone in the hospital knows and respects Dr Geissler!
Dr. Geissler receives our highest recommendation. He is competent, confident and explains evertyhing in great detail. He puts the patient's needs and safety above all else but takes his time to answer each and every question that you or your child might have. Personable and caring, he truly takes pride in his work and the lives that he is able to impact. We worked with Dr. Geissler for 2+ years and couldn't be happier with the process, the outcome or our relationship with him.
