In February 2018 I had repeat heart valve replacement and repair surgery and fortunately Dr. Gosta Petterson was my surgeon. I had three open heart surgeries nine years ago in South West Florida with another surgeon that did not go well and truly had not felt well every since. By the time I went to Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, I was on oxygen and in congestive heart failure. Dr. Petterson is the BEST in his field! He did a wonderful job with my open heart surgery!
I am a former RN that worked with Dr. Petterson, of all the CT surgeons at the Cleveland Clinic, I think you could make an excellent case that he is the best, if not the best in the world. I saw him do some amazing surgeries, with good outcomes. His specialty is redo vavle surgery, if that is what you are looking for!! If any family of friends were to require surgery, I would take them here (I live in SC now). Thought this might be helpful!
It's hard to rate this DR when the only time we've spoken has been after my husbands double-lung transplant. But then he was very patient with our questions (even after an 8 hour surgery) and made sure we understood the procedure and how things went. Obviously he is very knowledgeable or he wouldn't be a surgeon and he was very helpful talking with the family.
