I was extremely disappointed with my experience with Dr. Ghassan K. Abou-Alfa. Although he has an impressive title and reputation, I did not feel that he treated my father with the level of respect, empathy, or attentiveness that a seriously ill patient deserves. His manner came across as extremely arrogant and dismissive. I find the staff of Dr Abou-Alfa beyond callus rude dismissive &disrespectful as they are treating Cancer Patients try and call if and when someone answers and try to explain why your calling You will see for yourself Shameful behavior
Dr. Abou-Alfa was highly recommended by so many people in oncology groups, but I was also warned that his office is so understaffed and have made many medical mistakes, which is terrifying since that can be life or death for a cancer patient. While MSKCC gets a ton of funding, I don’t see that benefitting the patients at all. Like others have said, the wait times are always 4+ hours in the medical room while his office staff come in and out surprised that you’re still in there.
