Although he may be a "nice person", his skills as a Doctor are from skilled. I would rather have a Doctor that had no bedside manners but knows what he is doing than a nice Doctor who has no clue. He was always clueless when he saw my mom as to what was going on with her and had to ask each time what treatment she was taking. He is not up to date on treatment plans and really should not be in practice any longer. I really regret us going there and now have selected a skilled practice and pray it is not to late for my mom. I am past 10 years Cancer free from a form of Non-hodgkins Lymphoma that was expected to return and hard to treat. Doctor Dermarkar andbhis staff are excellent. His nurse has been with him for a very long time. I like the personalized service. He is totally honest about everything! He keeps up with all of the larest treatments, and gives you the truth about them. If you are looking for sugar coating you won't get it here!
My wife has a history of TTP. When pregnant her numbers started tipping in the direction of a flare up and no other hematologist would take her due to being pregnant. Dr. Dermarkar told us that she couldn't have ever had TTP because she lacked over of the symptoms. Problem was that definition of TTP was 20 years out of date. Unfortunately, we were young and didn't know any better so we trusted his opinion. He put her on some steroids and it staved off the flare up for a while.
