Dr. Gema delivered both my kids c-section. She was supportive, listened to all my questions and answered each of them in detail. I felt safe and I know she took extra precautions since I was showing preeclampsia like symptoms. My c-section scars are limited and I healed well in her care. She is always kind, thoughtful and caring. I was sad when I knew I wouldn’t get to visit her often since I no longer will be having more children.
I experienced an emergency for 7 days that lead to the eventual pre-term delivery of my first child. In those 7 days I sought Dr. Fernandez out along with her partners only able to see nurses instead. On the final day I finally saw a doctor who didn't even take the time to look at my chart before giving her recommendation. Dr. Frenandez was my OB - I saw her on the 7th day and didn't even recognize her.
I have moved to Texas and I am STILL trying to find a doctor that treated me the way Dr. Fernandez did. She EXPLAINED everything to me, I never left that office wondering what she was talking about or what our next step was. You don't realize what a blessing it is to have the type of personal care her and her staff provided until you lose it and have to go elsewhere. She even got my quirky jokes. Wish I had one of her, or at least could find a stand in, in Texas.
After a successful 3rd birth with Dr Fernandez, I experienced a late miscarriage with my 4th at 17 weeks. Dr. Gema was very compassionate during the whole experience from birth in the hospital to follow up after. She displayed great professionalism along with genuine sympathy for the unexplained loss. I would recommend her to anyone based on her professionalism and compassion in both positive and negative pregnancy experiences.
