Dr. Engelstein told me doctors tell the truth when I told her Dr. Eimer at Northwestern recommended a pacemaker because I was out of breath when I had my first short stress test and my heart rate didn't reach the goal. Very competent
I have been under Dr Engelstein's care for A-fib for 13 years. She is wicked smart, never jumps to easy conclusions, offers thorough and very understandable diagnoses of various conditions. Dr. Engelstein knows me, my lifestyle, and how I can continue to live my daily life with my A-fib now basically under control. I trust her implicitly.
After my surgery I was unable to reach or see dr. Englestein. She told me I was still under anesthesia when she came in and she explained everything to me then and then went right out of the room not allowing me to ask one question. My follow up visit wasn’t with her but her nurse. I tried on several occasions to talk to her but couldn’t get her. I would never use her again (had pacemaker) go to someone who you can talk to, not be pushed on a nurse never to see the doctor again. I would never use her for anything.
Brilliant! Thoughtful, informed, communicative, measured. I was recently admitted to the hospital due to a complex mix of sudden onset health issues that impacted my heart. Dr. Engelstein was my assigned - and FIRST - cardiologist. She was reassuring and relaxed. She left me feeling highly informed. An outstanding healthcare experience!
