I went to see Dr Abreu with pain in my kidney area. When I asked for pain medicine or a pain patch he told me he doesn’t prescribe medicine and that he doesn’t have a license for that. My husband and I left the appointment in shock. He did nothing to help me other than read over my test results.
Dr.Abreu has being my nephrologist for 18 years. I am so grateful that God put him in my path when I was diagnosed with Lupus. He has being always excellent and miss Sonia from front desk I give her 5 stars as well, including the medical assistant. God bless him and his staff, and I know they will be continue doing the same excellent work.
Warning! Dr. Abreu may be a great doctor based on reviews and word of mouth, but the so called office policy about referrals is far from it. I was given a referral from a cardiologist to see Dr. Abreu. The referral was electronically sent to Dr. Abreu's office and I called his office and made an appointment. A day later I was called back and was told that my referral needed to be from my PCP, not the cardiologist who is treating me and that referred me.
