She was great about taking my history, but after diagnosis she abandon me. Was my autoimmune disease too tough? I also noted in our session that she was far too involved with teaching her "student" instead of communicating with me the patient. She told me my disease was unusual "but we do a lot of it here at Columbia..." And then she f*ing abandon me. I'm very grateful to have a Weill Cornell Doc now who actually wanted to problem solve. Dr. Elizabeth Mayer has been my rheumatologist and primary care physician for more than a decade . During that time , I have been quite ill at times, and have suffered from some challenging and mysterious conditions . Dr. Mayer is so kind , gentle and compassionate and always offers sound and reasonable advice and solutions. I don't know where I would be without her special brand of care.
