I was referred to Dr. Chodosh for unexplained pain. He sent me for an MRI. The MRI report had a clear diagnosis on it but Dr. Chodosh told me to ignore the report because he knew better than the person reading the MRI. My Mom was diagnosed with dementia by Dr. Chodosh, who did so in a most compassionate and considerate way. He took time to meet with me, while she was present AND while she was not so he could speak more bluntly. Subsequently, Mom was diagnosed with a leaking heart valve by her PCP. That PCP suggested that, given her dementia diagnosis, we should not bother to treat her.
