There is a fine line between providing quality care and maximizing the profits of shareholders, which i assume have investments in these medical groups . I have had some billing issues after receiving a payment statement for a test that was ordered i was not made aware of during my visit.
I had a great visit with doctor Matthews. I have recently moved to town and was looking for a new PCP. Matthews’ approach focusing on prevention and health was really refreshing! He took the time to listen to my concerns and addressed them with educated answers. I am happy i found a great PCP.
I went to go see Dr Matthews today and there were no instructions on how to get to his office. His name is not in the directory, there are two sides to the the building and no help desk. I got to my appointment 12 mins late because of this and they canceled my number also the number that is on the site isn’t even the number to the direct office. I called back by accident and the front desk hung up on me lol. Go somewhere else
Please DO NOT vist Dr.Edwin C Matthews. He performs unnecessary tests without even bother to inform Patient about those tests ( what tests he is going to perform and why) and never utter a single word whether those tests will be covered by the insurance or not. He just performs the tests and the patients has to pay for those extra tests.
It took more than 2 to 3 reschedules to get the check up done. I was asked to do couple of test, after numerous calls i got to know about the results. Event though there has been few findings which need treatment or care but never explained to me, gave blood and money to get tested never told about under lying conditions and remedy. This looks like not only matthews but entire USMD doctors are like that. Its very hard to reach out to them if you reach out to you, looks like he is not intrested in giving treatment.
