He patiently explained their diagnosis in accessible language and gave us some great insight into their care, treatment, and prognosis. Today I visited Dr. Wilson with my son due to concerns about a pathogenic variant for a rare genetic disease that was uncovered during Whole Genome Sequencing. Due to the low frequency of this variant, our previous questions were not able to be answered even by a Medical Geneticist. After contacting GARD through the NIH, we were put in touch with Dr. Wilson as a provider who is familiar with the disease. Dr. Wilson accepted my son as a patient and was able to see him within a few weeks. We flew in from out of state and I can... read more
