I had my appointment with Dr. Dermot Adams today and wanted to share how grateful I am for the experience. He spent over an hour with me, was incredibly thorough, and asked many thoughtful questions while trying to understand what’s been happening in my body. I have been seeing Dr. Adam’s for 4 years after having a severe TBI. He hasn’t talked to me once about my head trauma just gives me a seizure medication then ends the call. I have never talked to him for over 15 minutes. I thought explanations and possible side effects would be common practice but apparently not.
I have been going to Dr. Adam’s office for almost 7 years and I have yet to have one good interaction with the front desk staff members. Example, I called to ask if they would take my son because he also had a seizure and she said “We don’t accept kids.” (Which is fine, I understand.) I then asked her where I could get in contact to see someone and she got frustrated and said “You aren’t understanding me.” (With raising her voice.) I recently had seizure clusters that prompted a medication change. KGH helped control the focal seizures that would not stop while I waited to hear from the neurologist. Dr. Adams called me back promptly and walked me through the medication change via phone. I’m very grateful for his continued support throughout this process of getting on the right medication for my epilepsy. Thank you Dr Adams and Staff, I appreciate you all.
