This is a number of years old, but at age 16 I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease as a female at 5’5” and 134 lbs. This doctor went into great detail about me being overweight as a factor. (I was a size 4) I never forgot this and it affected my body image and caused eating disorders for the next 2 decades of my life. I never as an adult was any heavier than I was at age 16. I hope this man reads this and realizes how his narrow views affect his patients.
Significant other of a former pediatric patient in the 90s and early 2000s with severe Crohn’s disease, who was able to go on a clinical trial for Remicade (Infliximab) thanks to this man, which arguably gave him a second chance at life.
He saved our sons life.
