Words can not express the gratitude that I would like to extend to the brilliant Dr Denise Tong for her patience and caring in the 3 years I have been under her care for conective tissue disease and fibromyalgia. After a terrible year of fibromyalgia flares and extreme fatigue, (bed ridden and house bound) Dr suggested a new treatment approach to my chronic pain issues. I saw Dr Denise Tong for assessment of a suspected Ehlers Danlos Syndrome after years of searching for answers. While I appreciated finally being given a diagnosis, I have been extremely disappointed by the lack of transparency and refusal to provide me with a copy of my own diagnostic report. Despite being told by Dr Tong that I could obtain the report through my GP, she has since blocked both myself and my GP from accessing it. My experience with Dr Denise Tong has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. After years of searching for answers, I finally received a diagnosis of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. At my last appointment, Dr Tong told me that now that I had a diagnosis, there was “no need” to see her again. When I asked for a copy of the diagnostic letter, she refused and told me to get it from my GP. I had to cancel my appointment with very short notice, which I understand is inconvenient, however there is absolutely no excuse for the receptionist to be that rude. She hung up mid conversation without giving me a chance to reschedule. I was referred to Dr Tong but won’t be rebooking after that experience. I can see many have had a similar experience with the receptionist - doesn’t sound like she likes customers very much.
