I saw Dr Denise Tong for assessment of a suspected Ehlers Danlos Syndrome after years of searching for answers. While I appreciated finally being given a diagnosis, I have been extremely disappointed by the lack of transparency and refusal to provide me with a copy of my own diagnostic report. Despite being told by Dr Tong that I could obtain the report through my GP, she has since blocked both myself and my GP from accessing it. My experience with Dr Denise Tong has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. After years of searching for answers, I finally received a diagnosis of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. At my last appointment, Dr Tong told me that now that I had a diagnosis, there was “no need” to see her again. When I asked for a copy of the diagnostic letter, she refused and told me to get it from my GP. I had to cancel my appointment with very short notice, which I understand is inconvenient, however there is absolutely no excuse for the receptionist to be that rude. She hung up mid conversation without giving me a chance to reschedule. I was referred to Dr Tong but won’t be rebooking after that experience. I can see many have had a similar experience with the receptionist - doesn’t sound like she likes customers very much.

I am so disappointed in Dr Denise Tong. She never listened to my concerns and how I was feeling. Just kept giving me different medications which didn't help. A couple of times I rang the office to speak to Dr Tong urgently as I was in extreme pain and she never called me back. She gave a message to her receptionist to pass on to me. That's so unprofessional. I cancelled my last 2 appointments and you would think she would call to see why. Not a word from her or her office. So dissapointing.
