In August I was in the Emergency Room due to an eye condition in which Dr Ferguson was no help! We were initially told by the ER admission that Ascension had a retina specialist 24/7 which wasn't true. Instead I had Dr Ferguson wanted me to have a CT scan and when I refused he let me sit for over 1 1/2 hours in the room until he released me. He had absolutely no clue or training in regards to my condition, just trying to justify my visit with a CT scan. As of now my bill is over $1300 for absolutely nothing.
Personal details on reason for visit have been withheld. In short, I met with a telehealth provider during this visit for a mental health crisis. She helped me establish a plan to leave the hospital and seek assistance with my care team the next day. After agreeing with the psychiatrist on tele that with this plan we had made and her theraputic treatment, I was well enough to return home. EDIT: If I wouldn’t have asked questions my father could’ve potentially died. He had an 99% blocked artery and a stent had collapsed. Yet this Dr. Was trying to say it was just Acid Reflux! Absolutely horrible bedside manner! Does not like to answer question then gets offensive rushes out the ER room and says loudly “cancel everything” and tried discharging within seconds then realizes there was a communication error between the nurse and him then he quickly wanted to admit my father in the hospital. I fell and gashed my head so I cannot determine whether or not this review will be accurate or not; however, that being said, Dr. Ferguson saw me quickly and his bedside manner was better than most other doctors. He explained everything he planned to do and I liked his demeanor and his attitude. I was weary of him initially but by the time I left the Emergency Room, I felt comfortable and pleased with my experience at Sacred Heart today. Thank you health care providers!
