Not sure about the reviews. I called her today and her advice was to see a family doctor who could prescribe anti-depressants. Verbatim "i think you need to be on medication." How's that for caring advice when you decline to see me? If you cannot accomodate the patient nicely say so. I wonder why all the reviews here are 6yrs+ old. Something significant may have changed.
I find Dr. Deborah Nixon to be very aggressive and unreasonable.
As soon as I met Dr. Nixon, I knew she was the right psychologist for me. I had been to three prior, none of which I connected with. She is warm and welcoming and makes me feel extremely safe and comfortable. Dr. Nixon listens and engages and is genuinely interested in what I have to say. I love her ‘bedside manner’ and approach to therapy as, honestly, it feels like I am sitting down to coffee with a good friend. Dr. Nixon has helped me immensely. She is amazing and I can’t recommend her highly enough.
Dr. Nixon is a great sounding board and support system. She is thorough, kind and compassionate and makes you feel welcome and heard. Dr. Nixon came to me highly recommended and I would have to agree that she is a great resource and a true professional.
