I have been going to these physicians for almost 40 yrs. I have had very good experiences with all the doctors especially Dr. Somerset. Since she retired I have been going to Dr. Hamby. Have never been happy with her. She is rude and rushed. The last visit was the worst. She was rude. Did an endometrial biopsy and did not explain why. It was soooo painful I almost passed out. IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS, I WOULD. Dr Hamby is incredibly kind and caring so long as you do as she says and do not ask questions (especially if you are questioning her medical advice/diagnoses). She put me on birth control after I came to her with chemotherapy induced perimenopause. A year later (11/2024) I came in for a medication renewal appointment and was confronted with the expectation by Dr Hamby that I was also there for my annual pap. Dr. Hamby was the only GYN who treated me with Estrogen replacement therapy. I went to several doctors, including an endocrinologist, in the metro Detroit area and no one recognized that my symptoms were due to estrogen deficiency. Most GYNs don’t even know how to treat estrogen deficiency, because they are not taught about it in medical school. Not everyone gets hot flashes. The office staff and the nurse that helped me were wonderful and very polite. I notified the nurse that took me back that I have some trauma in my past that makes these appointments very difficult and she was very understanding and reassuring. I had a little bit of a wait for the doctor before she came in, but nothing more than you'd expect.
