I was so young and naive and in my early twenties when I was a patient of Dr. Westbrook. He asked me to remove my blouse and bra while he was alone with me in the room, standing less than a foot in front of me. He then performed a “breast examination” while I was sitting up. It was traumatizing. I was going through some significant medical issues, and he was someone I should have been able to trust. He made me feel very uncomfortable. In 20 years of seeing endocrinologists, none of them have ever had me wear a paper gown that they opened to expose me as they watched me breathe. Wish I had done something about it back then. I complained to my Gynecologist who referred me, his reply was “I’ve heard a few complaints like that. I’ll never refer to him again “.
