i found Dr Brings combative, lacking in insight, and unhelpful. he doesn’t offer great insight and is aggressively judgmental.
Asked very few relevant questions (nothing regarding physical conditions or social familial relationships). Pushed one concept from a self-help book without approaching any other angles. Provided no initial diagnosis or insights into possible mental disorders
The best councilor I have ever seen, and I have seen a few. In the past I could always distract or redirect attention away from certain areas and avoid puncturing certain myths. Brings saw right through this immediately and didn't allow it. He made arguments from facts that I could not refute and I had to see the childhood sexual abuse I had always denied happened.
Helped me through a very hard time. He was a "life-saver," an excellent therapist. I would recommend him to anyone who has survived sexual abuse/assault or trauma. He is wonderful, talented and honestly, the best therapist I have ever seen
