I first came to know Dr Thaker in 2011 in my previous role as General Manager of St Stephen's Hospitals Maryborough and Hervey Bay when we were trying to improve oncology services in the area and reduce the numbers of patients forced to travel to Brisbane to access cancer services. Dr Thaker took on the challenge providing weekly services to the Fraser Coast region.
