DO NOT RECOMMEND this physician. The ED department was wonderful. Dr Benzing asked me several times about being pregnant and then proceeded to poke my abdomen like the Pillsbury dough boy (while I was sitting up) I was so confused until I read my medical notes “patient has super obese abdomen” - thank you for letting me know that sir, I was unaware because I don’t have a mirror. I think Dr Benzing is great he is strait forward he does not sugar coat things. I was an alcoholic he told me some people that would upset but I couldn't argue I had a .385 BAC and I was joking with everyone he said I should have been passed out or almost dead nope. Sober 9 years now if he could see me now. Very caring doctor
The ER department in St. Ignace is a wonderful caring place. I was treated by Dr Benzing and he was amazing. He was caring and compasionate. He listened to what was going on and looked at several reasons to just make sure he coverall all basis. The nurses were also wonderful and caring. They had a good team who worked together. The ER was busy but they still made sure my needs were met.
Dr. Darrin is a wonderful er doctor. Very thorough and caring , thankful he is there!
I am not a fan of this ER doctor. My experiences with him have been rough and uncharacteristic of all the other ER doctors we have here in Cheboygan. I have heard conversations he has had about me and my care that shouldn't have been discussed in a hallway and strangers able to hear.... ALSO, the information he was speaking about was a criticism of my Primary Care Doctor and the way he is handling my care.
