Had to see this man as a child with type one diabetes, because my parents wanted me to see ‘the best’ paediatrician on the Gold Coast. I had a negative experience as a child never any education only judgement on my levels and never any adjustment only 12u of act rapid 3 times a day. He told my best friend she was over weight (she is very much not) and these outrageous comments led to her insecurities. I believe a doctor shouldn’t make children feel insecure and definitely shouldn’t be the cause of leading someone to believe they should starve themselves. This hurt me so much to hear and hurt my friend even more and these comments are unacceptable and not even true.
I initially thought Dr price was AMAZING and had done so much for my son. He changed his meds and it really helped. I got a referral for my daughter and I found that he is good if you want your kids on meds, however if you need strategies and support he is not the doctor to see. He makes it really difficult to ask questions and get clarification. Will keep kids on ADHD meds if they are overweight to manage weight and won't listen to lowering doses. Rude to me and my mother, then told snatched a pen that my little brother was drawing with that was literally for drawing off him. Also tried to talk about my problems with sleeping that medication was causing me and he ignored it he also didn’t book it for my brother again and had to ask receptionist to add him to the booking.
I took my children to Dr Price, he is fantastic and amazing at his job. He is very old-school and gets to the point. The receptionist was helpful and friendly and assisted us through medicare, always a challenge. Overall a great experience and I have recommended him to others.
