Dr. Refai was my surgeon for a lower back lumbar fusion and also tumor removal from my spinal cord. It was a Major surgery and Totally successful! My recovery was fast and very manageable pain wise. The team was super responsive and caring. Dr. Refai is direct and honest and will give excellent advice. I would highly recommend him and the team at Emory! We had a great experience despite the serious medical condition.
Excellent surgeon and personable doctor
After extensively searching for a spine surgeon Dr Refai came recommended from a prestigious medical center in Seattle. After meeting with Dr Refai I knew I’d found the doctor of choice. Now being four months post-op I can say I made an excellent decision! I’m pain free after an L5-S1 fusion from disc failure after years of being professional watersport athlete and commercial pilot. Thanks to Dr Refai and his team for getting me back to the water and sky!
Dr Refai is absolutely incredible…impressively patient and generous with his time explaining things to people who know very little about complex neurosurgery and ask a lot alot of questions. I am confident he saved my mom’s life and wouldn’t accept any substitute. (His fellows/residents are quite impressive as well)
