Four years ago I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Doctor Pacella performed surgery, removing a portion of my colon. Combined with subsequent chemo, it saved my life.

This is long overdue. In 2009, I was in the ER at Palos Hospital with what I found out to be a hugely swollen and infected gallbladder. The ER was going to send me home but Dr. Pacella told me that "in good conscience" he could not discharge me; my gallbladder had to come out immediately or it might burst and I could die. My GP had missed the gallbladder twice, once saying that I was just fat and the second time, two weeks prior, that I had weak stomach muscles. I had a huge bulge on my right side.
