this man doesn’t care about you. he gave me ritalin and risperidone, medications that interact with eachother and i gained 20kg and got sent into severe psychosis. at hospital the beds were filled but they sent him a letter of referral because they believed my condition was that bad and he ignored it. i now have bipolar presumedly from that medication induced psychotic episode. he should be fired, he spent most of our appointments looking at his laptop and my mum had to recommend medications that he prescribed wrong, giving ... read more

As a teenager (now 37) this psychiatrist asked me how i was feeling out of ten. I said -1. He asked how that made me feel. I said suicidal. He then asked me when mum wad picking me up. I didnt know. We then sat in silence for roughly 45 minutes. Ive had many terrible mental health professionals but this has got to be one of the worst.

Please be extremely careful. This is the experience I had with Rikard-bell as a personal psychiatrist. I booked a consultation to receive treatment for ADHD diagnosis I’d received from a trusted psychologist. After a consultation was prescribed an SSRI (antidepressant) despite no depressive symptoms. After a couple of days of taking medication I felt weak, my heart was hammering and my hands were jittering. Dr Richard-Bell spent a lot of time asking me many questions about my life and childhood. He treated my answers with thoughtful compassion and humour so I felt completely relaxed. At no time did I feel negatively judged and in fact I felt heard and understood. I’m in my 60’s and it was nice to have positive affirmation. I would recommend Dr Rickard-Bell as a doctor who has seen and heard it all before and who makes you feel comfortable in your own skin.
